After a debut as part of Nike’s hyper-limited “Black Label” collection during All-Star 2025, the KD 18 is ready to broaden its premiere with a new “Liquid Lime” colorway on April 18th.
Upon its first look earlier the year, Kevin Durant’s eighteenth signature shoe drew justifiable comparisons to the late-1990s classic Air Terra Humara. Specifically, the KD 18 appears to borrow the distinct mid-foot lacing system which features floating eyelets connected to a mid-foot shield. The midsole is rather consistent with the KD 17, itself linked to the Air Talaria. Even the toe-box overlay appears to be influenced by the Zoom Vomero 5, continuing an ongoing trend of Nike KDs being linked to past icons.
This “Liquid Lime” colorway features hits of Clear Jade, Black, and bright Orange, a color palette that is deliberately similar to the Nike KD 4 “Weatherman”.
Typically, Kevin Durant sports his new signature shoe late in the season and into the Playoffs. However, for the first time since his rookie year, KD could miss out on the postseason entirely. Furthermore, Durant could very well be on the move this offseason, meaning the KD 18 will find a new home as well.
Regardless of the outcome of Phoenix’s season, the Nike KD 18 “Clear Jade” is confirmed to release on April 18th, 2025.
