Jordan Brand is tapping into Chinese mythology with the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Xuan Wu,” ready to hype up the upcoming Year of the Horse in 2026.

Named after the legendary guardian of the North, Xuan Wu is represented in Chinese mythology as a snake-tortoise hybrid, symbolising endurance, protection, and transformation. Following the introduction of the high-top version in January, this low-top iteration once again blends elements from ancient Chinese culture with contemporary style.

Draped in a full black leather upper, the silhouette features an ornate, carved-like pattern on the heel, inspired by snakes and tortoise shells for a mythical edge. Similar to the earlier high-top version, this model features a translucent outsole with details of tortoiseshell popping out from the translucent material. To justify the $250 USD price tag, luxury touches, such as low-profile ankle padding, leather-wrapped laces, and a leather tongue, are featured throughout the sneaker, defining the pair as a luxury sportswear.
