Nike is clearly dead set on springing a Shox renaissance. While the most culturally impactful models like Vince Carter’s BB4 remain off the shelves for the time being, silos like the Shox TL and Shox R4 continue to emerge in new colorways as 2024 stretches on. A third sibling is now poised to join the mix. Following a characteristically crate-digging Supreme collab in 2022, the Nike Shox Ride 2 is coming back as mainline offering for the first time ever.
Especially in this tonal “Light Bone” & “Turf Orange” arrangement, it’s easy to see why Beaverton plucked this silhouette from the archives. The The layered composition and mesh-heavy arrangement up top creates a very on-trend look, sharing a lot of DNA with other dominant tech runners on the market. While we’ll have to wait for an official Nike announcement for hardware specs, it appears this is a true retro, holding onto the shortened spring columns and tapered look overall, slimming down from a wide toe-box to that Shox unit at the heel.
We don’t have official release info for the Nike Shox Ride 2 “Light Bone” just yet, but expect a $180 retail price when this pair does emerge (likely as a part of the F/W ’24 slate.) Enjoy official images embedded further down while we wait.
