adidas’ ClimaCOOL tech dawned in 2020, the Three Stripes’ foremost breathability tech that after a splashy entrance, has stretch across their catalog Elsewhere in the footwear world, silhouette diversity is becoming more mainstream, evidenced by shoes like the New Balance 1906L and the enduring success of Crocs. The Three Stripes’ latest experiment brings those two worlds together, revealing a one-piece, fully 3D printed silhouette expected to hit the market in 2025.
didas has long been pushing the envelope with their Futurecraft and 4D initiatives, aiming to replicate the vaunted comfort & propulsion of BOOST while (literally) injecting ecologically-minded materials. Recent Futurecraft output combined STRUNG textiles up top with a 3D printed midsole; this edition eschews the former and seemingly stretches the latter for an all-over, seamless arrangement. The chunky, one piece hardware of this shoe elicits some comparison to product like the adifom Infinity, but don’t get caught up on precedent, this is a new proposition entirely.
