What were you up to thirteen years ago? With all due respect to our readership, Spike Lee probably has a better answer to that question than any of us. During one of Barack Obama’s visits to Harlem, the visionary film director gifted a pair of his then-upcoming Spizikes to the commander-in-chief.
Now, as the Spizike vertical has gotten new life with the Spizike Low, Jordan Brand is revisiting that monumental link-up with an adapted retro of the same exact shoe. To be clear, while certainly Obama has a cache of special make-ups (including the Hyperdunk), this doesn’t make the cut on its merits: it was simply an advance pair of the “Bordeaux” colorway rather than an edition minted specifically for the Chicago native. Nonetheless, Beaverton designers are treating this modern revival with the same reverence that’d go into a sample, keeping the multi-color layout exactly intact from the 2012 release.
Expect the Jordan Spizike Low “Bordeaux” to hit Nike.com in short order, retailing for $60 upon arrival. Keep an eye on our Jordan Release Dates page for direct pick-up links once this pair lands.
