As Nike gears up for Air Max Day 2026, fragment design founder Hiroshi Fujiwara has officially teased a collaborative, all-black iteration of the brand’s experimental new Air Liquid Max silhouette.

Following closely behind rapper Yeat—who recently debuted a vibrant volt green and black colorway of the unreleased model in his latest music video—Fujiwara took to social media to reveal his own sophisticated take. Sticking to fragment design’s signature neutral palette, the collaborative sneaker is murdered-out in a stealthy mix of black and anthracite. The futuristic, seamless upper is detailed with a subtle reptile-like texture, while Fragment’s iconic lightning bolt logo is prominently stamped on the tongue to cement the partnership.

However, the silhouette’s most defining feature remains its radically modified sole unit. Reimagining Nike’s historic cushioning technology, the Air Liquid Max takes the tube-shaped components seen on recent Dn models and flattens them. This aggressive engineering creates a full-length, liquified Air unit that wraps around the bottom of the shoe like a pillowy crust, completely changing how the cushioning is visually presented and distributed with every step.
