Converse Japan has officially revealed the CONS RUNBOUNCE / 3itsuka in a highly limited “Strawberry” colorway. Developed in collaboration with runner Takaya Mitsuka, the drop celebrates his hometown of Tamana City in Kumamoto Prefecture, drawing direct inspiration from the region’s famous local produce.

Built under the “Pop Running” concept, the CONS RUNBOUNCE / 3itsuka stands as the brand’s first-ever thick-soled running model. The silhouette is designed to prioritize the pure enjoyment of running over strict performance metrics like speed and distance. Translating Mitsuka’s vision into a physical product, the sneaker boasts a striking visual identity tailored to make an impression.

The upper is engulfed in a vivid, juicy red reminiscent of fresh fruit, contrasted sharply by green accents that mimic a strawberry’s leafy stem. Elevating the playful execution, the quintessential strawberry seeds are reimagined as subtle, star-shaped motifs scattered across the design, nodding heavily to Converse’s iconic heritage. The chunky sole unit not only provides the necessary cushioning for a comfortable ride but also amplifies the shoe’s pop-centric and catch aesthetic.
