Air Max Day is here, and Nike has just announced a new program for exploring the future of Air Max.
Nike Air Works’ first program is set to take place between May 11 and May 14. During this time, designers from Beijing, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, New York, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo are traveling to Nike’s headquarters to develop unique 3D-printed Air Max styles. Zellerfeld, the 3D-printed footwear specialists who helped the Swoosh introduce the Air Max 1000 and Air Max 95000, is assisting with the development.
“Air Works is about celebrating the cultural impact of Air Max and inviting a core group of global creatives to imagine what its future could look like,” says Andy Caine, VP, Creative Director, Nike Sportswear.
Looking ahead to next year, each of these local designers will host a limited, F&F-exclusive drop of their shoe. The timing of this is said to lead up to Air Max Day 2027.
