Vans is stepping out of the skate park and into the studio with the introduction of the Vans Premium Authentic Prima “Rhinestone Black.” The heritage brand is taking its foundational 1966 silhouette and recontextualizing it through a completely new, lifestyle-focused lens.

Drawing heavy inspiration from traditional ballet shoes, the design completely transforms the standard Authentic profile. The most prominent visual feature is the heavy application of rhinestones across the entirety of the black canvas upper, offering a stark, glamorous contrast to the brand’s typically rugged, utilitarian output.

Structurally, the footwear shifts away from its traditional vulcanized tooling. Instead, it employs a distinctively thin outsole that seamlessly integrates with and covers the toe box, enhancing the ballet flat aesthetic while still retaining the core DNA of the original model.
