Kith Women and Amsterdam-based designer Daniëlle Cathari have teased an upcoming collaboration with New Balance on Instagram, presenting the 991v2 “Reverse Matcha.” This new release follows their successful 2024 partnership, which introduced the 991v2 “Matcha.”

The “Reverse Matcha” maintains Cathari’s signature minimalist aesthetic while honoring New Balance’s traditional design. It cleverly inverts the color scheme of the previous 991v2 “Matcha,” swapping the matcha green suede and brown mesh for a brown suede and matcha green mesh. This unexpected yet elegant colorway preserves its luxurious appearance from the last collaboration, while adding a playful touch. In addition, the silhouette features the 991v2’s usual two-tone midsole in white and cream, grounding the design in classic appeal.

While the exact release date for the Daniëlle Cathari x New Balance 991v2 “Reverse Matcha” remains unconfirmed, it is expected to be an exclusive and highly limited release through Kith Women, similar to their previous collaboration.
